No More Volunteers!

This season has been one of the most unexpected and unpredictable ones yet also one that has surprisingly brought the world together in one way or another.

Normally, we would have so many volunteers popping in every so often to help out with work around the home. Things were way easier then thanks to the extra set of hands. You never miss the water till the well runs dry and ours surely did. Having volunteers really helped a great deal with both taking care of the children and balancing this with daily chores; laundry, dishes and cleaning the rooms.

Basic activities yet vital. With the onset of COVID-19 pandemic in Kenya and all over the world, a lot of things have had to change. Basically, our lifestyles had to change!

To us, this meant completely banning visitations and interactions with the children. Obviously no volunteers as well. Inevitably, this had our mothers and caregivers a bit more overwhelmed with work than before as they needed to fill the gap left thereof.

With time, however, we have managed to add more staff so as to lessen the burden and ensure nobody gets burn out as we also ensure the caregivers are healthy enough to take care of the lovely children.

We also greatly appreciate the resilience and strength of the staff as they love and nurture the young ones. They have shown so much dedication and flexibility with the unpredictable nature of this season and this has helped keep us all afloat. We will always celebrate them for this.
